A Silly Midwinter Tradition

February 3, 2008 / by honeybugg3

     Good Sunday Morn, Blogsterville

Well, yesterday was Groundhog Day. An innane ceremony takes place in Punksatawny PA every Feb. 2. where they drag some poor little groundhog out of his buroug and parade him 'round for all to gawk at.  Its just stupid. I've often wondered what the groundhog thought of this whole bid'ness.  So I asked.

Just as I suspected.  As Poobah I will abolish this ridiculous holiday and let all these dear woodland creatures continue their hibernation in peace.

Further proof that humans in cold climates go insane without adequate sunshine and warmth, but then again, it's probably just another excuse to warm things up with a big party! Pass me a glass of ice wine and a groundhog cupcake!

Another excuse to get loaded before Lent. BTW: Tuesday is Mardi Gras - Fat Tuesday.

I would rather have a hot toddy with my groundhop cupcake! Do groundhogs vote??? I was aware that many a skunks and rats voted--mainly for themselves, I bet--but I sure have been uninformed about the groundhog vote. Go for it Ms. Buggsy!

Well, if dead people can vote in Chicago, why not a ground hog or two? Laughing LaughingLaughing

Hey, Don't knock poor Chicago. They haven't had an original idea in years. I'm sure that they are just following the example set by some other more innovative cities and states!Wink
